With the election behind us today, we can all agree that we just witnessed an outcry for sweeping change in America. One area that is on point with this “change movement” is in westernized healthcare. Physicians are beginning to transition their medical practices from being solely “condition and solution oriented” to being “wellness focused”. It’s not enough currently to look at many of the illnesses that are beginning to become so prevalent in our society without trying to understand why…what has changed in the last 30-40 years? Why is there so much cancer at a younger age? Why are so many of the neurodegenerative diseases that were once considered unusual becoming almost epidemic? We believe there is a fundamental shift occurring right now in free radical medicine which has indoctrinated an entire generation of people over the last 3 decades into thinking they need to take vitamins to be healthy. Most of the vitamins many of us are familiar with have little to no science behind them. An astounding 76% of Americans take a vitamin every day which has resulted in a $36B industry! Where 30 years ago a vitamin may have been potent enough to neutralize all the free radicals necessary to keep our cells healthy, now that may not be good enough, given all the toxins we are now exposed to on a regular basis. Free radical medicine is evolving from a directly administered antioxidant philosophy (vitamins) to an approach involving activation of the cellular processes producing antioxidants (Protandim). We are fortunate to have a new team member interested in the science of nutrigenomics and how this might help his patients achieve a more robust and healthier lifestyle. Surgeons like Dr. Lanchoney are beginning to see that the healthier their patients are going into surgery, the more likely it is they will have a better result. Amy and I are very pleased to introduce one of our newest team members, Dr. Thomas Lanchoney of Bryn Mawr PA.

Dr. Lanchoney (tlanchoney@gmail.com) is a board-certified surgeon with a very active surgical practice on the Main Line of Philadelphia http://www.uhsurology.com/default.aspx. Because of his compassionate bedside manner and focus on patient satisfaction, he is consistently listed as a Top Doc in Main Line Today Magazine each year. He is passionate about his holistic approach to treating patients, helping them feel their best both inside and out. At the Anti-Aging and Aesthetics Center, he applies his extensive practice experience and skills to laser and injectable procedures in addition to nutrition and weight loss counseling. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Our own Elite Pro 9 Amy Holmwood spent two days in Chicago, IL with team members Stella Kalfas and Maria Martinez. All presentations were held in libraries with resounding success and participation from their communities. This is a great little tidbit of information for those of you wanting to assemble prospects for presentations outside of your home. The expense is very low and it’s a great way to spread our message to members of the library. Congratulations to Stella and Maria for a job well done and for the newest team member from Chicago, Hector Concepcion, who will be featured in our next blog.
